Kennedy Point

Syrah 2018

It’s reminiscent of great times with people you trust. We were disappointed when the last drop disappeared. — 2 years ago

Ironclad Waiheke Island Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Delicious. 20 months in Oak. Cab franc still dominant grape at 45% so a slightly different rendition than the old world. Oak, tobacco, dark fruit. Yummy — 4 years ago

Te Motu

Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2000

This one slept 19 years in my cellar. We bought pre-release direct from vineyard on Waiheke (hence funky label). It’s a beauty / prunes and stewed fruit /violets / bitter cacao / firm structure. — 3 years ago

The Ned

Waihopai River Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Very quaffable SB - had to try it while in Auckland - all the typical grassy tropical fruit notes but better balanced than most. Everyone liked it. — 4 years ago

Soljans Estate

Kumeu Pinot Gris 2016

Creamy, lemony nose. A hint of lemon verbena, lemony a slight, green now to the overall aroma. Maybe a hint of carnation. Entry is full and round. Front and mid palette heavy. Difficult to describe, because it is not in the same mold as a typical, citrus and slate of PG. More of a creamy finish. Quite delicious and out of the norm. — 5 years ago
