Villa Toscano

Marchesi Antinori

Tignanello Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2017

The Antinori family of Florence, one of the world's oldest and most distinguished wine producers, has lived in Tuscany since the 14th century. Blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cab Sauv & 5% Cab Franc. Deep Ruby, aromas of black berry fruit aromas with herb, mint and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with cacao, vanilla and aromatic spice. Fine graceful tannins, long finish, well balanced, savory ending with oak and juicy earthy mineral tones. Very Nice! — 2 days ago

I had the pleasure of visiting this winery with my wife. It’s a real Italian beauty in so many different ways. Wonderful wine, which shows best with a little age (in my opinion).

Isole e Olena

Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2016

This is a fine example CC, juicy, silky and some ripe dark cherry, plum. The velvet pallet is very enjoyable, earthy, leather and the Tuscany herb flavours. . 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo and 5% Syrah — 2 days ago

Tenuta Greppo (Biondi-Santi)

Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2006

This was one of the better Brunelli I have tried this year. Structured for the long run showing laser like focus, precision, cherry, berry fruit with an inky, cedar, menthol spice followed by tobacco. Could drink this all night. — 3 days ago

Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga

Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2018

Medium ruby, the 2018 Fèlsina Chianti Classico Riserva Berandenga needs time to open up in the glass, revealing restrained aromas of red and black cherry, red plum, dried herbs, discrete wood and earth. The palate is medium bodied and nicely balanced by fresh acidity, decent fruit concentration and ripe, polished tannins. A few more years in bottle will probably do the trick. Drink from 2026 until 2040. — 7 days ago

Toscana Merlot 2015

On to the reds. My first time with a full bottle , previously only had “pours”. I am judging this wine for what it is vs what I prefer to drink. Clearly a new world wine but not a fruit bomb . Wonderful concentration of fruit on the nose and palate . Of course oak is there but it is handled perfectly. Alcohol is shy. A beautiful satisfying wine that is so easy to drink with our steaks. I would love to taste this with another 10 years in the bottle. — 16 days ago

Le Pergole Torte Sangiovese 2015

It is glorious Pergole Torte. Full fermentation in cement after which it receives 18 months in barrique. Multiple layers of dark fruit and cherries. You can almost bite the wine. Smooth but yet with a lot of grip. bravo. — 20 days ago
