Red fruit, cola, spice, and minerals. Very fine tannins along vibrant acidity. Still plenty of life left in this bottle! — 8 days ago
Blackberry, slightly floral, bright acidity. Started to fade after being open for a few hours, so I’d enjoy relatively soon. — 10 days ago
A blend of 68% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 2% Cab Franc, dark Ruby with aromas of ripe dark red fruits, cigar-box spice, floral and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with notes of licorice, pepper, vanilla and toasty spice. Fine tannins, integrating well with oak, good overall balance, long finish ending with fruit, floral and sweet oak. Great now, still has long aging potential left! — 10 days ago
And that’s why BF is so worth it - 12 years in and it hasn’t even peaked yet. Beautiful. — 3 days ago
Art+science mutualism. 25% sauv blanc and 75% pears. Really interesting cider/wine. Tons of funk on the nose, definite Brett, with some lemongrass, sea salt. Palate is funky! The pears seem to be in the background a bit but there’s definitely a sweetness from them. A lot of barnyard, hay, grass as well. Very interesting. Probably not for most people. — 10 days ago
Purple-red, moderately extracted pigment. Aromas of cranberry and blackberry, later barrel tar emerges. Good acid, mouthfeel, rich, almost oily in texture in a good way, raspberry flavor emerges with time, followed by slight skin astringency and bitterness on finish with butter and blackberry (and later lactic) aftertaste. Just a tad alcoholic for what it is, if one were picky, but with food, what’s not to like here? Also ageable given the tannins — 23 days ago
I hope everyone had a great weekend? It was beautiful here in the Chicagoland area and it looks like fall is fast approaching. Tonight i have opened the 2019 McBride Sisters Collection Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand.
On the nose there is peach, lime, grapefruit, nectarine, white flowers and minerality.
On the palate there is lime, nectarine, white peach, grapefruit, herbs, white flowers, lemongrass and a nice minerality.
This wine is medium bodied that has a clean fresh mouthfeel and medium + acidity that leads into a long crisp citrus finish. Lets all have a great week and look forward to a wonderful new weekend ahead. Please be healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — a month ago
