Served this slightly chilled (12’C?).
Gorgeously fresh and pure dark fruit. Succulent, juicy, still primary….
Tannines and alcohol beautifully blended into the dense and viscous core. Only a slight hint of spice, chocolate and licorice now. Sweetness and freshness in excellent balance. It even feels more fresh than sweet at the moment. Certainly not too heavy nor intense.
This is so forward and yummy and sexy right now… I just don’t miss the complexity it might be lacking at this stage.
Sure, it has a few decades of life left and it could get more cerebral and complex…

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Chile.

Showing red and black fruits with oak, coffee and light earth notes.

This 6 year old Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the 5 to 7 years.

Robert Parker 94 points. Wine Spectator 93 points. Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

I had the 2021 vintage a year ago, and it was drinking much better. The 2020 was not as good of a vintage as the 2021.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and better with food.

A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Carmenere, 5% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 12 months in (10% new) French oak barrels.

15% alcohol by volume.

Mid lemon in colour. Aromatics of yellow peach and slate. Touch of smoke. Great palate intensity - not overly sweet for an Auslese - only 8% ABV. Jancis said “a floral explosion on the palate “ and I cannot disagree. I don’t drink a lot of sweet wine without dessert but this was most enjoyable - a great accompaniment to chicken liver pate with crackers. This Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend is starting to drink nicely now. Elegant and nicely balanced, but still feels very tight.

Earthy with nice complexity, and very Left Bank Bordeaux in style.

Still very young and not as approachable. Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.

After the crappy Kiwi Chardonnay (Luta), we needed something of impeccable quality and breeding, so here we are. This incredible Spatlese from JJ Prum, other than the color, is just beginning to show its charms, this will last MANY MORE years, but such a privilege to drink such a phenomenal Mosel legend, mineral, sweet apricot and peach fruit, amazing acidity, great length, LOVE this stuff!! (P.S. — I have NO intention in getting involved in the Casagrande clan’s metal band debate, I’d rather just drink old JJ Prum Riesling!!) — 2 months ago

Ripe peach and grapefruit with a hint of apricot. On the first night the sweetness dominated (we mainly drink dry Riesling). This was 8.5% ABV with plenty of residual sugar, but on the 2nd night not tasting as sweet. Purity verging on crystalline. Medium plus palate intensity. A class act typical of JJ PRUM. I’m not sure if I have chosen the right title here. There was nothing “Trocken” (Dry) about this Riesling. — a year ago
