A bit better. Maybe I am in a better mood. Yes, that is Wedding Crashers playing in the reflection. — 18 days ago

Tinta del Pais Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2004

Predominantly tintas grapes in this sublime bottle. Scents of tea and tobacco which evolved into dark fruit. Earthy flavors of leather, dark fruit and spice. — 2 months ago

Hacienda Solano

Finca Peña Lobera Ribera del Duero Tinta del Pais 2016

Superb single-vineyard wine from a tiny 90-year-old plot, surrounded by pine forests, rosemary bushes and thorny shrubs at nearly 3,000 feet (one of the highest vineyards in the appellation). Aged in French oak for 15 months. Elegant and perfumed with aromas of dark fruit and hints of menthol. Balanced. Remarkable freshness and texture reminiscent of chalk. — 2 months ago

I expected more. Textural, deep brooding #riberadelduero #tempranillo #tintofino some hints of oak, ripe fine-grained tannins. — 2 months ago

Hacienda Solano

Seleccion Ribera del Duero Tinta del Pais 2018

Hacienda Solano’s entry-level wine, Selección is mostly Tempranillo with some 2% Albillo from selected plots in the small village of La Aguilera, all farmed organically. Fermented in stainless steel with some full clusters, the 2018 Selección was partially aged in 225 and 500-liter French oak barrels for 8 months, much less than most Crianzas in the area. Aromas of red fruit and some notes of pine needles and Mediterranean herbs (some menthol?). Powerful, very smooth, fine tannins. An outstanding village wine and one of the best values in Ribera del Duero — 4 months ago
