Rubrica Vinho Regional Alentejano 2015

This has a musty old world aroma of earth and forest floor. This translates on the palate with deep rich flavors of dark berries, bitter chocolate, and pepper. This is full bodied with a strong backbone of well integrated tannin and a lasting finish. — 2 days ago

With R. Delish! It has a peppery bouquet.l but is very light, almost refreshing. A very unusually easy-drinking red — 9 days ago

Bodegas Luis Cañas

Reserva Selección de Familia Rioja Tempranillo Blend

Rich, flavorful, and a great pairing with chuleton. Started a little sour, but smoothed to a fruity start and a strong finish. — 16 days ago

Morgado

Spanish Springs Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

9.5

Contrasting this to the Sarah Francis, it’s more dense and viscous. It’s just more decadent, while the SF is more ethereal. Rated them the same but for different reasons. — 5 days ago

I know, @Jan A. When wifey and I travel, we always ferry a few bottles with us. Puts a dollop of cream on top, so to speak… 😎

A Texia Ribeiro White Blend 2017

Bitter finish that overwhelmed everything else after decanting 30 minutes but smoothed out after an hour and layers of citrus and minerality emerged — 2 months ago

Baga Touriga Nacional Vinho Regional Beiras 2015

Dark rubi robe, nose of blackcurrant, top soil and crushed flowers. Very light, balanced, complex, with polished tannins. This is great stuff. Low in alcohol too. Highly recommended. — 14 days ago

Xisto Ilimitado Douro Branco 2019

So silky, nutty, chardonnay-like. Prodigious green apple, juicy yellow plum. Mineral and textured in a distinctly Portuguese way. — 9 days ago

Delectable mistakenly put it as the red- but that white is a damn good wine

Optio Vineyards

Paso Robles Petite Sirah

Optio Vineyards San Luis Obispo Grenache 2020, California

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Strong nose of blueberries, dried figs, raisins, oak, licorice, cooked cherries, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light tobacco and black pepper.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with stewed blueberries, cherries, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, bitter herbs and peppercorn.

Nice length on the finish with round tannins.

This young Grenache is drinking very nicely already. Spicy and rich.

Nicely balanced with mild complexity. Showing a smooth mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Easy drinking and good by itself. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

Grapes were aged in oak barrels for 17 months. A tiny production of only 3 barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$58.
