Still excellent! Dark cassis and plum notes, strong honeysuckle or honeycomb nose, some earthiness or funkiness right off the bat that faded. Still some solid tannins, but much more balanced than when it was younger. Lingers in the mouth well, with some cooking spices on the finish. 38% Cab Sauv, 31% Cab franc, 25% merlot, 6% petit Verdot. — a month ago
Tonight I have opened the 2016 Château Rauzan-Ségla. A beautiful left bank Bordeaux from Margaux made up of a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot.
On the nose there is black cherry, raspberry, plum, black currant, chocolate, herbs, violets, graphite and wet rich earth.
On the palate I am getting cherry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, cassis, herbs, graphite and earth.
This beautifully complex full bodied wine has a smooth satin mouthfeel with medium + acidity and medium + fine grained tannins that seamlessly moves to a long good fruit/graphite finish. This is one wine you can get very excited about and enjoy having on any occasion and for many years to come. Have a great rest of your weekend and be safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 days ago

2018 vintage. No way one would situate this in the humble Bordeaux appellation in a blind tasting, but that shouldn't come as a surprise, since this estate is owned by Pierre Lurton (who also manages Cheval Blanc and Yquem). A blend of 80% Merlot with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Give it some time to open up or decant, as this is structured to age. Interestingly it tastes like a compromise between right and left bank. The fruit is more black than red, the wine has a serious tannin structure, balanced by good acidity and serious length. Another Bordeaux boxing above its weight. Highly recommended. Abv. 14,5 %. — 11 days ago
Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe red fruit and complex spice from this 4 grape Left Bank blend. Classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, the palate shows concentrated fruit flavors of black cherry and red plums with tobacco, bitter cacao and smoky oak. a powerhouse blend with smooth fine tannins, well balanced. Long finish ending with fruit, oak and earthy notes. Very well done! — a month ago
2016 vintage. Biodynamically farmed 22 hectares estate. A blend of 75 % Merlot and 25 % Cabernet Sauvignon. Intriguing nose with cassis and an intriguing minerality. I believe I would have guessed left bank in a blind tasting. Solid structure, concentrated fruit and nice length. The ripe tannins need to soften up a bit, but everything is in place. Terrific ageworthy value at less than 14 euros. Abv. 13%. — 12 days ago
