A bit closed. Needs more time but still better then half the garbage out there — 11 days ago

AP 8 Alte Reben Krettnacher Euchariusberg Kabinett Riesling 2016

A bit more shy on open, but then blossoming into the classic Falkenstein dance of herb and stone, crackling with zesty acidity that floats into a neverending finish that leaves you salivating (literally) for more. So good! — 2 years ago

Racy, fresh, intense, frizzante. Fruit really singing by the third night. — 3 years ago

Niedermenninger Herrenberg Trocken Red Blend 2019

Delectable Wine

Toasty, sweaty and smoked meat notes vie with dried cherry and red currant for aromatic attention on the nose of the 2019 Red Wine Niedermenniger Herrenberg trocken. The palate perpetuates those impressions with an alluringly silky feel allied to just enough juiciness. Rose hip, cherry pit, black tea and black pepper lend complexity to an impressively sustained finish. (For why this 100% Pinot Noir is labeled simply, in English, “Red Wine,” consult my review of the corresponding 2017.) (David Schildknecht, Vinous, May 2022)

Val Venosta Blauburgunder 2015

Very much reminds me of reds from the Willamette Valley! Earth that’s just been freshly turned combined with notes of raspberry, strawberry, and dried cherries. It’s really amazing! — 3 years ago

Niedermenniger Sonnenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken 2017

This is light bodied but so intense. Lots of chalk and minerality, and of course loads of acid. Long finish. Fruit is definitely secondary to the minerality. Quite nice. — 4 years ago
