Pale lemon with fresh stone and citrus fruit aromas and nutty floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and grapefruit with honeysuckle and citrus spice. Medium finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, mineral and herb floral character. Tried twice. — 2 years ago
A very delicious example of high end Pinot noir from the Alto Adige / sudtirol. Dark ruby in the glass. Quite a viscous palate which is perhaps not surprising given the 15% abv according to the label - would have guessed less myself for sure given the relative lack of heat. Intensely aromatic with lots of deep dark red fruit on the nose - can smell it far from the glass. Deep and mouth filling, but still manages to express Pinot noir in its own way. A beautiful pairing with young lamb at Sissi in Merano. Incredibly long finish with great acidity. — 4 years ago
I’m a sucker for good Vernatsch. When it comes in its light, airy, aetheric form.
Dark plums, orange peel, a hint of undergrowth. So clean & spacious. With a pinch of exotic spice.
On the palate this is light yet with the depth of old vines (up to 100y) and the cool minerality of high altitude alpine terroir.
Thank God not many enjoy this style as it’s ridiculously cheap for the quality!

Chalky lime candy aromas with a hint of beeswax.
Rich fruit, from bruised apple to pear to light papaya with lime. Well-balanced acidity, apple cider on the finish. — 3 years ago
