This is a very well made wine drinking at its peak right now. It still has lovely primary aromas and flavors of cassis, black cherry and cedar but is now showing more tertiary notes of dried violet, forest floor, leather, mushroom and tobacco. Good balance of fruity with acidity, velvety medium tannin and full body framed by 13.5%abv. Very satisfying with beef tenderloin. — a month ago
Delicious but reasonably priced Margaux Bordeaux, enjoyed with tuna and ribeye at Manhatta Restaurant, New York — a month ago
So much lighter than the CA wines but delightful. Possible WOTN. — 8 days ago
Unassuming Margaux, cheers. — 2 months ago
Dark cherries and blackberries. Graphite and deep organic forest floor. Robust and bold. Tree spice. — 12 days ago
Double decant and pour(lots of fine sediment). A striking still dark purplish garnet color with bricking. On the nose: Alluring perfumed notes of red/blue fruit, smoked meat, tobacco, vanilla, eucalyptus, wet forest floor, cloves. Taste: silky, old school restraint, elegant wine with some red fruit, leather, earth, dried herbs, tobacco, and a medium spiced smokey wood finish. Did not wow, but still a pleasure to drink at 38 years. — a month ago

1hr+ decant. Medium red color with burnt edges. Flowers and cow shit dominate the nose. Lovely texture with a ton of terroir and character on the palate. Cigar box, cedar, and pencil lead throughout. Medium plus finish. Always a fav! — 3 days ago
