Expression De Margaux

Château d'Arsac

Cru Bourgeois Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

2018 vintage. There is a lot to be said about this estate, I recommend visiting the website. It has a very ancient history but today it is a big 250 hectares estate, with 108 hectares of vines, 54 hectares classified as Margaux (after a legal battle), 50 hectares as Haut-Médoc and 4 hectares planted with Sauvignon Blanc (only entitled to the humble Bordeaux Blanc appellation over here). It shines rapidly in the nose with cassis, flowers and very subtle oak. In the mouth it is all about elegance. If you are looking for a blockbuster, this is not your kind. But if you can appreciate a classy refined gentleman then buy this by the case. Textbook Margaux finesse, with impeccable balance, nice depth and length make this one of the finest values in the appellation. Highly recommended. Abv. 13,5 %. — 16 days ago

La Dame de Malescot

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Somehow this is a second wine. Bold dark fruit. Tannins integrating. Finish is forever. Malescot’s main event is even better, and this is an incredible starting point. — 16 days ago

The mouthfeel is a velvet glove. Just gorgeous and soft on the palate. Its hit a good phase & will still improve for another 7-10 years. Floral fruits with a raspberry heavy lean, blackberries, dark cherries, suppressed blackberries/black raspberries and a touch blue fruits. Soft graphite, used leather, dark rich soil, dry stone, crushed rock powder, fresh tobacco with brilliant florals that are purple, blue and framed in a field of violets. The acidity round & beautiful. The long elegant, well knitted & balance finish shows all the aged finesse & elegance that is classically Marqaux.

Gorgeous nose of violets, cassis, black fruits, really floral, fresh potting soil, so pretty. Just wafting. Palate is ripe, juicy, tangy and fresh. Sappy and so pure. Youthful and taut but very measured. Really great showing for this wine. Black fruits just burst on the palate with such clarity and purity. Awesome stoniness on the finish. Very refined tannins. Long finish. Much room to improve. — 25 days ago

Château Labégorce

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Best QPR BDX of the year for me. Just had all the best of Margaux at a reasonable price - classic perfume and body with black fruits and graphite. A true steal for an outstanding vintage. — 9 days ago
