On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with our first show of the season, a popular artist event with The Mavericks / Nick Lowe / Los Straitjackets. A lot of guitar talent on stage today! — 8 days ago
More concentrated than most of his wines, bigger Grenache, probably needs some time. — 17 days ago
The 2021 Grillo seduces with its sweetly floral and green citrus tinged bouquet, as crushed rocks give way to honeysuckle and lemon custard. A core of sour lime and melon tones add contrast. The palate is left reeling with mouthwatering tension and a lingering minty herbal streak. $19.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2022) — 7 days ago
I agree with Eric Guido’s note on this wine, but I rate it slightly higher. This is quite light in color. It has nice zippy, sappy, sweet red fruits. The mouthfeel is velvety. The finish is long. All that being said, there is still a mountain quality to this. I paid $39. Worth it. — 14 days ago
2018 vintage. Côtes de Jura Chardonnay "De Marne et d'Argile" by Eric and Bérengère Thill. Light golden colour. Intense perfume of apricots and walnuts, somewhere in between the "ouillé" and "non-ouillé" styles ( I will ask for more technical information).. This might leave many tasters puzzled, but I find it delicious, intense and characterful with great length. Eric Thill uses only indigenous yeasts and this wine was aged for 16 months in stainless steel. Terrific value for a gastronomic wine with a unique personality. — 24 days ago
The 2021 Weissburgunder Pinot Bianco wafts up with herbs and lime zest before settling on crushed green apples and ginger. Soft-textured with a reverberation of citrus tension that nicely contrasts its inner sweetness. It leaves a subtle staining of minerals through the long and juicy finale. $15.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2022) — 11 days ago
