1/2 hour decant (little cloudy sediment). A formidable dark tawny red color with decent bricking. On the nose: subtle nose of stewed meat, iron, cherry, smoke, and herbs. Taste: A creamy, smooth medium plus body wine with mouth coating raspberry, minerals, tar, leather, little chocolate, and a smokey tobacco medium plus finish. Drink em now or over the next few years. Cheers! — 13 days ago
This a lighter style of zin. Smells like caps. And tastes like cherries and berries. Flavors are tart, juicy and complex. This is a go to. — 19 days ago
Ah Sobon Zin. The good stuff. This has some lovely cherry and berry aromas. With a bit of cut wood and nice smelling pipes. Flavor a a hint hot with a brandy/port streak, but that doesn’t detract from things because the fruit and zip is also there. Plenty to chew on and savor. This is jammy, classic foothills stuff. Full flavored and robust. Quite tasty too. — 4 days ago
What a fun wine! Light and bright with some depth. Love it chilled on a warm day or in general!!
If you know someone who typically only drinks white wine this would be a great transition to red appreciation! — 25 days ago
Light ruby color. Served this slightly chilled. Currants and figs on the nose. I’d say medium acidity. Tart raspberry, tart cherry on the palate. More currants on the palate as it warms up.. I’m not sure if this is supposed to be a rosé or not. But it’s yummy for early evening drinking on the deck. Thumbs up. — 7 days ago
