Domaine Latour-Giraud

Meursault-Genevrières 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

Alex Lallos
9.3

Yummy! A touch ripe with quince, tangerine and kumquat on the nose. Expansive yet defined palate and a long finish. Very meursault and shows genevrieres climat nicely. This producer is pretty high in my book these days — a month ago

This is so good. Upping a point since I had it last. Will wait at least another 2 years before next bottle. — 23 days ago

Domaine Netofa

Latour Netofa Galilee Red Blend 2018

#kosherwineSunday

Dark purple in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of black currants, plums, blueberries, oak, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, light herbs, earth and black pepper.

Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with black currants, cherries, light earth, oak, vanilla, chocolates and spices.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very nice Syrah blend from Israel. Feels like a Côtes du Rhône red, with a new world twist.

Nice and elegant with a great buttery mouthfeel. Easy drinking and good by itself.

This 3 year old shows nice complexity already, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the complexity.
I paired it with cheeses and olives.

A blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Mourvedre. Aged in French oak barrels for 13 months. Kosher and not Mevushal.

14% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$30.

Les Referts Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 1995

1995 and still tastes great! Alcohol separated but a quick decanting and it blended well. Lemon and flower. Really smooth. Last one on Earth! Gave me a small hangover — 21 days ago

Les Quatre Journaux Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2002

3rd of 6 RSVs at this dinner. This was solid but lacked the oomph of the other wines. We speculated that it might be due to filtration. — a month ago
