Clos du Roy Corton Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Gorgeous! Smells like a forest after a springtime rain. Wet leaf and damp soil. A touch of tangerine peel and a lot of violet. Quite herbaceous too - oregano and thyme, but really provides a cool Asian beef teriyaki flavor. Great complex and tasty wine. — 18 days ago

Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2014

Really like this wine! Has a nice tart, crisp taste. Does have a fair amount of acidity, but very good overall! Does have a lot going on so not necessarily an easy drinking wine, it wants you think about it while sipping away! — 3 years ago

Deep ruby purple. Muted oceanic nose with seaweed and ozone. Delicate, fruit driven palate entry with tart plum and bitter skin. Sort of yum, yum baby fat fruit here. Medium body, medium acid, medium alc. Tannins are light and fine. Not complex but delicious. — a month ago

Cru Bourgeois Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

2012 vintage. This estate is owned by Jean Guyon, the biggest owner of vineyards in the Médoc appellation. Mainly Merlot (70%), with equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. A rather difficult vintage, but in general merlot fared better than Cabernets. Attractive nose, almost New World in style, with amarena cherries and vanilla. Round and ripe, but with good acidity. Gentle tannins and good length. Obvious oak influence but not drying. Drinking perfectly now and well worth the 18 euro price tag for a mature Bordeaux. — 2 years ago

Les Dames de Vergy Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Pinot Noir 2013

Nose of cedar, red raspberry, juiced cherry, cranberry and wet leaves.

Palate has rehydrated cranberry, partially dried cherry, raspberry juice, unsweetened cranberry juice, early spring strawberry and light, loamy earth.

Slightly grippy tannins, otherwise a very smooth finish, medium length. Our first go around with this producer. I bought at a local shop tasting event, decanting this was the way to go. The fruit was solid when I first tasted, but the tannins seemed to get in the way. You'll (generally) never get to taste a bottle at a walk around that has had the proper air, so you need to go on faith and experience some times. I'm not disappointed with this bottle tonight, decent show. $25

Another 3-5 years of patience will do no harm to this bottle, likely benefit.

Marsovin

Marnisi Estate Antonin Merlot Cabernet

Merlot, cabernet sauvigon and cabernet franc grapes blended to perfection with great barrel ageing. Full bodied fruit driven wine. Pity I can't pick this up in a shop as Malta is a long way to go for a good bottle of wine!!! € 12 absolute bargain. — 5 years ago
