2023/9. Classic amontillado, with plenty of flor character and oxidative richness — 16 days ago
Opened very slowly. Little sediment and only light staining on the cork. This was without signature for the first 30 minutes. Very slight cherry and tar notes. Pleasant but nothing much evident. After 2 hours of decanting it opened and was more resonant but it never exceeded “generally nice”. Nothing was amiss but nothing zoomed or was special. Finish was not particularly long. Tannins were mellow. Bouquet was modest but somewhat inviting. Color was pale with orange rim. This was an auction purchase. — a month ago
That great Barolo coloring pale at rim and darkening toward center. This was not focused on opening but got there after 2 hours. Truffle cherry earth and a full palate experience. Lots of weight to this wine and it stays heavy on the back end. Went very well with the homemade bucatini. — 22 days ago

Starting to get tertiary but still very powerful — a month ago
Quite light ruby with wide garnet rim . Fresh roses and street red fruits , dried spices , anis . On the palate lovely ripe red fruits , quite high alcohol but good balancing acidity and quite raspy tannins, just a liquorice hint at the end . Showing quite well , the ripeness of the year comes through and makes this quite approachable , though obviously very young and fruit driven still . From now and over the next 15 years I would imagine . — 2 months ago

Fiano-esque with acidity. The Olive oil bottle alone is a masterpiece. I hear it’s Lanzarote Malvasia ❤️ 2021 — a month ago
