Great wine for the $ definitely scratched that Nebbiolo itch. Acid is driving, but there’s some nice succulent fruit to give weight and palate length. Muddled ripe cherry, kirsch, licorice root, camphor, tar, flowers, a touch of a cooling herb element, very appealing and open.

Clean, good purity of fruit, some oxidation, rustic tannins, VA lift. Great with pizza.

2020/9/19-20 with culotte roast, Matheson’s and frisée salads, etc. This has really come into its own - this bottle had that perfumed, sandalwood and flowers character that some Nebbiolo from northern Piedmont seems to develop, along with fine acidity and soft berry fruit. Wonderful.
