My word, what a disarming wine! Ready from the get-go, you can spend a long time with just your nose in the glass before wanting to take a sip of this. It has the freshest, coolest of dark brambly blue fruits, with smoked meat, graphite, lavender (garrigue, almost), a herbal note and myriad spices adding complexity. The palate is gorgeous, absolutely radiant and chock full of flavour without being over-extracted - and only medium weight, really, at 14 degrees. The finish is positively smoky. Wonderful stuff. This is a generous, sensuous and pure Syrah that exceeded my expectations. My first wine from Boekenhoutskloof - and certainly not my last. — a month ago

Medium yellow lemon colour , still pretty young . Quite waxy and grassy at first , slightly herbal . On the palate waxy lemon and fresh pineapple. Touches of coconut , butter and toasty oak still at the end . Good length , and roundness , but held together with good balanced acidity . This is at its peak now , but should last a further 5 - 7 years . At Cheers Irish Pub , Jaraguá do Sul, SC , Brazil — 8 hours ago

Wine was deep ruby in appearance. On the nose, there was a medium intensity of red fruit such as raspberry and strawberry, with notes of cocoa. The palate matched the aromas, but with a little bit of spice, at a pronounced intensity. Body is medium, acidity is high, tannin is medium and grippy, alcohol is medium. Overall, a very balanced wine with a long finish that starts of intense, but smooth out as time goes on. The wine is complex and balanced. overall an outstanding wine! — 2 months ago

Medium straw . Quite muted at first after a while much more mineral , slightly smoky notes . Slightly citric , apple peel, after a while fresh garden peas. On the palate quite refreshing acidity , nicely fills out on the palate . More of the citrus notes , green apple . With time shows more creamy richness. Nice length , well balanced , with crushed chalk notes on the finish . Probably better in a couple years, and will last a decade . — 7 days ago
