Estate was founded in the late 17th Century. This period was known as the Grand Siecle, or "great century", in reference to Louis XIV's 1661 accession to the French throne. This second label from Pichon Baron is deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits, cacao and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with espresso, cacao and licorice. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, cedar and spice. — 20 days ago
Yup, still a funky delicious wine if you like wine from the Rocks district. — 2 months ago
The 2019 Baronesa P. is a combination of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 6% Carménère, 5% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Franc from the Maipo Valley, aged for 15 months in 60% new barrels. Garnet red in color. The complex nose is dominated by the oak, displaying notes of cedar and pencil box, dark fruit aromas and a whiff of thyme. On the palate, the flavors are intense with taut but polished tannins. Broad and long-lasting with an oaky backdrop, this grows more profound when decanted. One to keep. Beautiful garnet color. Smokey, musty, and earthy on the nose. Cedar, black raspberries, leather, and tobacco. Well integrated and not overpowering. Very satisfying finish. A real treat to drink a 40-year old wine that is so pleasing to smell, look at, and taste. — 15 hours ago

Always a pleasure. I like the spice, the body it has and the acidity that adds to the complexity and freshness. — 9 days ago
