Beaulieu Vineyard

Private Reserve Georges de Latour Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

We had the 2019 Vintage on 6/8/24. The tannins were fine, but this wine will get better in 5 or more years. Tastes of blackberry, plum and mocha. Full bodied. — 7 months ago

Louis Roederer

Cristal Brut Champagne Chardonnay Pinot Noir Blend 2002

Medium lemon yellow , persistent fine perlage . At first quite shy , needs a bit of time to get going . Then buttered pastry , confit lemon and roast nuts , quite bold and rich , just a hint of chalky minerality . On the palate the richer , deeper theme continues , those pastry and buttery notes , confit lemon and a creamy mouthfeel . Long balanced finish , the chalky acidity really helping to cut through richer , mouth filling profile . Coming back to this at the end of the meal , having sat 6 hours in the glass , this still shows remarkable freshness and life. This seems young to me still , certainly has everything for a long life ahead , better in 5 years perhaps and will show well a further 10-15 perhaps . — 8 months ago

Senior Faß 6 Ayler Riesling 2023

Orange blossom and the slightest touch of residual sugar to balance out the razor sharp acidity (and balance out my spicy Thai food). This is a light wine but I can almost taste the slate soils and steep slopes.

Whole-cluster grapes and spontaneous fermentations

From Importer:
Appellation: Saar
village: Ayl
vineyard work: All vineyard work is done by hand due to the incline of the vineyards. Absolutely no use of insecticides/pesticides or
fertilizers; the work is completely organic but not certified as such because Florian refuses to spray copper on the vines.

@Doug Powers I purchased a case of that for $32 a bottle direct from Australia. The first 5-6 years they drank exactly as you described. I thought time would help them calm down so I stashed them away and they all went downhill. Happy your bottles turned out well.
