It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain.
This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon, although still very young.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, tobacco, peppercorn, chocolates, graphite and dark coffee.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Medium plus on the finish with grippy tannins and tangy cherries.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 2 hours of airtime.
Not very big, but it's nice to see this moderate alcohol version of a Napa Cabernet.
Wine Spectator 95 points.
Already drinking beautifully, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Tasty and spicy. Delicious and engaging.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 32 months in (100% new) French oak barrels.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

38% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc. One of the better blends I have has as of late. H-E-B — 6 years ago
Dense Ruby in colour. Oaky notes with ripe red cherry and raspberry notes on nose and palate. Medium weight. A producer I had never seen before a tasting at the Downs Club and I bought 2 bottles to try at $32 each so it has good QPR and from the reputable Padthaway district. — 6 years ago
I found this ‘16 and gave it a try. A blend of 59% Grenache, 32% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, 3% Counoise & 1% Vaccarèse, aromas of intense berry fruits and complex spice. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with cedar and vanilla, well balanced. Fine soft tannins, lingering, complex depth, ending with elegant fruit and spice. — 6 years ago
Vines of Lilian-Ladouys are found a stone's throw from the Graves of Cos d'Estournel and the Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. Deep Ruby red color, with inky tones, blend of 62% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, aged in French oak for 15 months, aromas of black and blue fruit, cedar notes and herb spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with licorice and toasty oak flavors, full body with fine tannins, long finish ending with earthy oak mineral character. Will age over short term. — 2 years ago

Sharp on the nose.... deep flavor. — 6 years ago

— 6 years ago
55 percent Merlot, 32 percent Cab, 7 percent Cab Franc, 5 percent Petit Verdot, 1 percent Malbec. Beautiful fragrance. Tannins in Cab have mellowed so great balance. Maybe the best blend we have had. April 2020. — 6 years ago
Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
60% Zinfandel, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, for the 2005 vintage blend. This label features Redhead ducks, which we have commonly seen occupying our beachfront, not this year unfortunately.
Nose has vanilla bean, pipe tobacco, ripe cherry, ripe blackberry, prune (light) and over-ripe plum.
Palate has rich blackberry & cherry, oak plank, chalk (light), dried strawberry, ripe plum and raisin (light).
Beautifully long finish and tannins are long gone; this bottle is at the end of its life, also our last bottle of this vintage. Always interesting to see how long they will hold. The labels have always been a favorite of ours. — 7 years ago

At home tonight enjoying this wine with a pork stew. The wine showed very well tonight and looking forward to future bottles. 41% Grenache, 32% Mourvèdre, 19% Syrah & 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. No sign that this vintage has peaked. — 6 years ago
