"El Recio" Tinto de Toro

Brilliant marketing as everyone I have met knows the story of the 3 generations on the label. Luckily the wine meets expectations and is smooth, balanced, and velvety. — 6 years ago

Bodegas Emilio Moro

Malleolus Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2015

Winery is family-run & has links with the wine world going back 3 generations. Founded by Emilio Moro who was born in Pesquera de Duero, a prominent Spanish wine area. Made from grapes of old vineyards, between 25 and 75 years old, from the Camino Viejo estate. Malleolus is a Latin word meaning “small hammer or mallet” used in planting, and “majuelo” Spanish for “young vine” a traditional way of referring to a vineyard in Pesquera del Duero. Deep red subtle fruit aromas with espresso and smoky notes. Blackberry & cherry with vanilla spice on full lush tannins needing more time. Well balanced, complex, lingering with earthy finish. — 7 years ago

Hervieux-Dumez

Special Club Brut Champagne 2016

We’re pairing our Christmas brunch with a very special wine that we brought home from our recent trip to Champagne. 🍾🥂 🇫🇷

As we open this wine, we recall our visit to Hervieux-Dumez; a family-owned and -operated Champagne Grower/Producer, and member of the Club Trésors, located in the bucolic Premier Cru Village of Sacy. 💕 @champagne_hervieuxdumez

This particular wine is a ‘Special Club’, an indication of its quality and the purity of its terroir-expression. To receive this designation, the wine must come from an exceptional vintage and satisfy two blind tastings at different stages of the winemaking process: the first occurs when the wine is still, just prior to the second fermentation in bottle, and the second takes place after 3 years aging in bottle. 👏👏👏👏

This wine is a beautiful pale, gold hue. The mousse is fine and delicate. ✨ On the nose and palate, this wine offers primary notes of yellow apple, pear, lemon curd, and dried white blossom; also secondary notes of bread dough, yeast, brioche, and cream. 👍👍This wine is wonderfully balanced and refreshing; it presents dimension and complexity. It’s delicious.

Joyeux Noël to those celebrating today 🎄❄️ May your holiday be filled with warmth, peace, and many blessings. 🙏

Generations Reserve Peter Mondavi Family Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Wow wow wow and I would say O-M-G as well. Top 3 wines of all time. Definitely does not drink Like a Bordeaux. More like a Cabernet.

And thank you Ted who gave us this bottle and recommended to decant it and throw in the fridge 1/2 hour.

You will not be disappointed even at a $65 price tag. Smoky with definite oak and black currents, it’s simply remarkable.... and even though it’s “alcoholy” from the nose to the finish, it is so complex and dry that it compliments a cab lovers palate!

Louis Jadot

Domaine Gagey Les Boudots Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

🏅 Rating 92/100 (4,2⭐)

🍷Firm and full-bodied wine. Jammy sweet red strawberries. Rich on the palate with good presence of fruit. LJ style is showing with noticeable oak. Red grapefruit on the back of the palate and a long finish. This wine is shining at the moment. Deep and concentrated with perfect balance between the big robust and the elegant styles. Altogether justifies its 1er cru status. ⁣

5-star vintage of 2005 requires lots of patience for many top Burgundy, but this one has already opened its drinking window.⁣

📍Les Boudots covers 6.3 ha and sits on the East facing mid-slope in the Northern part of NSG and borders famous Vosne 1er Cru of Malconsorts. The soil is brown limestone and marl. ⁣

This wine is fermented in vats for 3-4 weeks and then aged 15 months in oak prior to bottling.⁣

Louis Jadot hold a long term contract over a parcel of half a hectare owned by the Gagey family. Domaine Gagey has belonged to André Gagey’s family for generations and have had a close association with Louis Jadot for many years.⁣

Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Started in 1981 by Ron and Diane Disney Miller. Three generations, almost 40 years later, Miller Family continues to source grapes entirely from their family-owned estate Napa vineyards. A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon 9% Merlot & 3% Petit Verdot, showing aromas of red berry, floral and herb notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry and red plum with cacao, herbs, vanilla spice and cedar. Rustic fine tannins, medium length with a spicy finish. — 7 years ago
