It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Pretty nose of blueberries, cooked black cherries, blackberries, figs, cedar, vanilla, spices, chocolates, earth, herbs, coffee, tobacco, licorice and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, currants, black cherries, raisins, dried figs, vanilla, cedar, cola, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, earth, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Feels like a Napa Cabernet with a Bordeaux touch. Fruity and rich, yet elegant.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours in the decanter, but it definitely needs longer than that.
What a great mouthfeel. I just love these Napa Bordeaux blends.
Still young and would be better in 5 to 10 years. Could be a 97+ point wine in 10 years. Will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years.
Thank you John for sharing this with me.
A blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
94 points.

Lovely! Celebrated my daughter’s college graduation with a 2013 bottle. Hearty and fruity. Paired well with beef tenderloin. — a year ago
Great flavor alone or with a meal — 5 years ago
Really nice. Fav SB. Love the halfsies. — 5 years ago
In the zone. Nose of bright and sour cherry, spice, cherry syrup. Ethereal and rich. Mesmerizing. Elite as usual. Really showing well at almost 8. Palate is so juicy and clean. Bursting with ripe cherries and powdery tannins. Sneaky persistence. Fruit really is pure. Amazing energy. Always masterful. — 6 years ago
Finally took a drive and picked up our Donum quarterly allocation....stopped at Mustards Grill in Napa for some dinner takeout! Order anything it's all great food!!
Double decant and pour. A fetching medium red color. On the nose: very fragrant...strawberry and more strawberry with floral, woodsy, and cherry notes. Taste: a restrained, Burgundy style with cherry, wet leaves, herbs, tea, and gravel. A dry wine (med acidity) with a medium plus finish. — 6 years ago

Made the mistake of drinking whiskey first. Tastes flat & dull in comparison. Earth, dark berries, cassis, & plum. Not overly bright or fruit forward. Leather, tannic, acidic finish. — 8 years ago
Great as usual. Cherry, strawberry, wood — a year ago
Although young approachable with plenty of fruit and soft tannins. Can go years to meet its full promise — 3 years ago
As noted previously, we have found that KBs under Michael have aged well; this SC continues this pattern; initial pour oak dominated the aromatics which resolved to a dark fruit profile after sitting for 15 minutes; palate continued dark purple to fruit profile with a long finish…no noticeable aging in color though palate is less fruit forward than a few years ago — 4 years ago
Cherry right off the bat. A full bodied wine fir a Pinot Noir. Paired well with my filet dinner. Will have again . ♥️♥️♥️ — 6 years ago
