So pleasant; apricot with peach weight decadence meets drizzled caramel and baked apple that brings pine forest fire sharply, hot and precise, before grilled yellow peppers and lava salt unfold to daffodil delicate and ethereal. Nose of golden tears. You drink in acanthus long before your sip; gum Arabic, hot orange honey and graphite. Mocha tobacco, bourbon barrel aged grappa, smoke of charred pit pig fat, roasted Tabasco pepper, and cinnamon oil and green olive grapple over cracked black pepper, anise seed, lavender oil, oregano oil and charred orange peel. Disturbs the mind in its swing from darkness to light, from life to death and finally rebirth. Hot entry with heavy oak that bites like a thorny rose stem, burnt brittle, toasted black sesame, leather whips, black pepper, vanilla bean, cedar, spicy tobacco with a squirt of grape seed extract, lingers on an wooden point that suggests cypress, but my mind returns to lac and wood stain, if they were edibles. There is light Spanish cedar trailing. NorCal wildflower honey meets pine nettle and orange peel on the palate. Cedar plank, green peppercorn, currant leaf, lemon zest, grapefruit oils, and flash of cinnamon oil paints a pleasantly complex narrative of autumn comforts and campfire smokes with brittle caramel bits and bee pollen place it squarely in the meadow. Lemongrass, spruce, sage and basil, peach blossom, clover and candied violet waft olfactorial. Ethereally nuanced. Snappy ginger and intense lemon oil, peppercorn, ginseng, candied grapefruit ride a fiery wave across the palate. Lanolin and beeswax entertain candied ginger and cinnamon oil. This one rips the thinning veil asunder, releasing the smoky spirits of ancestral resolve; the striving, meticulous, driven and unwavering craft.
