Hearty! 13.8 ABV, but tastes "heavier", in a good way. 72% Merlot, 16% Cab Sauv, and some Cab Franc and Petit Verdon - brilliant mix! Chewy, berry, strawberry, stone, leather and all kinds of masculine flavors -brought to you by Carolyn Lakewold. One of the few WA wines I bought, interested to see what they do now that they have dropped the "collaboration" concept. 9.2, and loved it. — a day ago
I really do like Merry Edwards' wines, and gift them often (no one has ever not liked the bottle they have received, and usually rave about it), and suggest them as a "beginner" winery to order direct from.
But this one was just kind of flat, bland and unexciting for me. I think I have had that problem with the Flax vineyard before. 14.1 ABV. Not Bad, just kind of blah. 8.8 — 12 days ago
Found one of my local liquor stores had some of these Dave Phinney NV blends I had not found before - the Italian here. Really, at @ $17, these wines are a steal. Easy to ID labels, thick bottles and a hood punt - at this price! Dried cherry, bit of a bite and tannins, lightbdrt, tobacco, vanilla and strawberry. 14.5 ABV. Thanks @Roman Sukley for letting me know about these. 9.0+ - great value. — a month ago
I love their whites, but just can not get into Ted's reds. They are nice, but kind of nothing outstanding or special. Smooth, but rather one-note. Your usual suspects Pinot flavors. A nice 13.9 ABV. Has aged nicely. Really wish I had a couple more, but still 9.0. — a day ago
2013. 11.5 ABV! The Hen. Talk about a light OR Pinot - this is the poster child! Tart, bright cherries, with a hint of strawberries and smoke. On the sweeter side, and even a tendency towards vinegar - still, loved it, and this style. Easy drinking. 9.1. — a month ago
SERIOUS beer. "Vintage" dated, aged, 6.2 ABV, number of cases (336), hops id'd. $12-15 for 11.2 ozs! A nice light sourness of the saison, and the oak barrel aging really came through. Loved it, but 2 bottles would be enough for an evening. Nice to see Grand Teton put all this effort into their beer. — a month ago
