Been disappointed in Pax's more recent releases, by very much enjoyed this one. 14.7 ABV. Decanted 2 hrs ahead - big alkies nose to it, but not when you drink it, thankfully. Deep strawberry and blueberry, hint of dirt and smoke, low tannin. Very much enjoyed. — 17 hours ago
I used to enjoy their reasonably priced blends, then they went to single-vineyard, and higher price. Not worth it.
Odd, nothing on label about vineyards or blend or what. 14.5 ABV.
Decent, nothing special. Better stuff out there for the price. — 2 months ago
Sadly 2015 is the last of these by Rhys - and sadder still, they all sold out in the blink of an eye.
Smooth, berry, strawberry, dried chery, lead pencil, slight rock, minimum tannin. 14.25 ABV. Yeah, I've always pretty much loved these Alesa's. 2006. — 24 days ago
OK, still on a Summer kick here. This is a Portuguese version of a pet-nat. Clear, and a Summer swilling ABV of 9.5! Really mouth puckering tart to start off, with citrus and melon. Lightly effervescent, of course. This is a nice answer to those overly sweet bubblies. Nice for a hot summer night on the deck. Refreshing. Score based on variety of wine - young and peasanty. — 2 months ago
2015, ABV 12%. Had to keep reminding myself this was officially not a Sauv Blanc. Lemon and grapefruit. Especially lemon. Pleasant Summer quaff to go with grilled chicken, in the rain! Yes, Charlie Smith does some fun labels. WA, Columbia Valley. — 2 months ago
