Orange wine indeed! Fresh, sweet citrus, peach skin and fresh herbs, subtle and very fine tannin. Terracotta amphorae aged on skins with indigenous yeast. 100% Grecanico and organic. Nero d'Avola and Frappato in roughly equal measure aged in clay amphora. Cherry as the name indicates indeed, as well as strawberry immediately and currants with 2 or so hours of air. A lot of floral notes up front reminded me of Barolo, especially with the mineral notes and the silky, but firm tannins. This is the best wine in a while for me from Sicily not from Mt. Etna. I am looking forward to trying more from COS and Occhipinti who is the "O" in #COS. #sicily #frappato #cerasuolo #docg #amphora — 11 years ago
