There is dried orange peel, lemon seed, and ginseng leading caper, rye bread, clove and a whittle of maple breezing. Grippy lemon and pomelo with an unctuous base, an odd white pepper, and lemon-poppy component. The color is dark, almost antique gold at this point, but the fruit is citrus-bright. #greco #grecoditufo whoa, now we’re turning golden delicious apples and the citrus is an afterthought #bianco #campania #tufo #tenutaRussoBruno #docg #italianwines #italianwhite — 6 years ago
Full disclosure, I am a big Aglianico fan, so I might be a little biased! The 100% Aglianico grapes for this wine are grown on the hills of Taurasi in Campania at 450 meters above sea level. The fertile soils are rich in minerals and volcanic ash and calcium, giving this wine some of its distinctive character. Pre-fermentation maceration at low temperature, maceration on the skins for 20 days and malolactic fermentation in barrique rounds out vinification. The wine is aged for 3 months in steel and 24 months in French barriques. Sampled after 3 hours in a decanter, this wine has character and an elegant boldness. The nose reveals dark cherry, spice and a little pepper. On the palate it is full bodied, with black cherry, tobacco, black pepper, leather and I hate say it, tar. The tannins are well balanced but still show layers of complexity. A lovely elegant wine that should continue to develop over the next 7-10 years. An absolute lovely example of a well made Aglianico from Nativ.

Pleasing #campania #falanghina - more citrus and some almond / nut notes on nose. Medium plus body, solid orchard and citrus fruit on palate. Nice oily texture. Excellent wine to pair with a seafood tower, and the body with bacon-wrapped shrimp. — 2 years ago
Lemon, green banana, lime pith, daisy, crushed rock dust, a sweet note: lemon verbena pudding. Lychee notes with lemon, lime and tangerine with amazing acid and mineral residuals that coalesce to lemon soaked pith. Round and lovely aura around tangential, edgy acid. Finesse. #tenutacavalierpepe #irpinafalanghina #falanghina #santavara #docg #italianwine #vinobianco #whitewine #campania #campagnia — 5 years ago
Beautiful nose. Delicate, complex, sweet, and perfumed. The palate unfortunately did not match up and needs time to relax and come together. #terradoradiapolo #aglianico #taurasi #campania #italy #ctbucklinwine — 7 years ago

Tannic, earthy, herbal, leafy vegetation, & a big rose petal note. 100% gaglioppo. Really interesting bottling. Campania brings it! #campania #gagliopppo — 4 years ago
This Greco from Campania, is believed to have originated in Greece and brought to southern Italy along with a number of other Greek grape varieties when the Greeks dominated that part of Italy. Very mineral, with stone fruit and citrus. Balanced acidity give this wine a lovely refreshing and juicy finish. Great with seafood.

Thoroughly enjoyable #campania #aglianico - pours bright purple into glass; beguiling aromas of plum sauce, stewed black fruit, sweet cigar smoke and a tinge of tar and scorched earth that carries through on the palate. The perception of plummy sweetness on palate is balanced by succulent acidity and indeed there’s velvety tannins on the finish. — 2 years ago
