The Ojai Vineyard - Camp 4 Vineyard - Santa Barbara County - Vermentino - 2021
Superb Santa Barbara County Fruit, Fruit is round and expertly ripe. Those in the know, know Camp 4 Vineyard.
Santa Barbara Terroir on the nose. Sight is greenish yellow. Medium+-Full body. Acidity is medium, keeping things early summer quenchable and drinkable without being bracing, and retaining the fun summer fruitiness without being bonkers. Flavor profile has a bit of grass, hay, and white peach notes. Delicious. Multi-bottle purchase. Highly recommend making a reservation for tasting if planning a trip to Ojai.
So far, for the limited amount of Vermentino in CA, and the ones I have been lucky enough to come across, This is my favorite still wine Vermentino (yes, theres sparkling out there too)

Start your vacation in Vancouver with a glass of this wonderful Pinot Noir or open a bottle wherever you are and imagine you’re smelling the breeze off the sea , the scent of the pine, and the sunset that doesn’t finish in the summer. — 4 years ago

Ashes & Diamonds Blanc 2018: Medium-plus bodied. Aromatic nose. Excellent balanced & great acidity. Citrus, green apple & green veg from the Sauvignon Blanc and melon, apricot & tropical fruits notes from the Sémillon. Creamy crisp finish. This is an absolute gorgeous Bordeaux style blend from Napa and from the skilled winemaking abilities of Steve Matthiasson. An excellent, refreshing wine selection for pool time & new friends! Have a great weekend! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
This wine has notes of a saline sea breeze on the nose. Crazy as it seems maybe even like a salt marsh. Maybe a little tart cherry there as well. Very pleasant and refreshing. This is a very pleasing, elegant style rose. Enjoyed on the back patio on a summer Sunday evening. — 4 years ago
Simple citrus, but super clean, refreshing, and reliable. Perfect for the beach. I was a little worried about the bubbles holding up after a few years but they did! — 4 years ago
Pale lemon in color with a green tint.
Very aromatic nose of white flowers, citrus, limes, green apples, gooseberry, light tropical fruits, spices, guava, lemon peel and herbs.
Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing.
Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, green apples, earth, herbs and spices.
Spicy finish with almonds and limes.
This is a tasty Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley. Spicy, refreshing and tangy.
Feels very much like a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, and better after 15 minutes of airtime.
A good pool wine that I paired with a beautiful day by the beach. Will also pair nicely with oysters.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Lovely! Beach camping this weekend and this wine pairs well with the salty air! — 4 years ago
Beach me up vibes all day baby. Smells like white peaches and clear skies and seashells. Zings on the tongue and you need that warming zing if like me you are gonna dip into the Pacific (soon I hope anyway I love the sea). The palate is chilled melon, gushing wet stone, and some sort of flower whose name I’ll never remember.
It’s terrible, I can name 7 synonyms for Tempranillo, but when it come to the rest of all botanica I can’t get it together.
Anyway. This finishes a with a hit of grapefruit flavor so from stone fruits to melon to citrus it runs the fruit gamut.
Gushing wet stone is the through-line. I don’t know if it has a dramatic arc but I don’t think it needs it. — 4 years ago

Yup, score is definitely influenced by the view. That aside this classic Argentine Malbec is perfect for pizza dinner. Bold, acidic, tannic and slightly fruity. — 4 years ago
