Cooler Shades of Pinot, 66/34 blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Willamette Valley. Pale golden, excellent clarity. Floral and citrus aromas, good acidity, rich mouthfeel, stone fruit, citrus flavors, lemon and lemon peel finish with length. Very well crafted — 3 years ago
-A Singular Riesling-
Day 1
Poured with the Vinloq System
👃Whoa! Deep and rich with tropical fruit, apricot, light florals and petrol
👅Rocks and acid! That same honeyed tropical fruit, meyer’s lemon and orange blossom. Waxy. Totally dry. Even chalky. That sweet dessert wine nose on a trocken may make this divisive…But I LOVE it!❤️
Refrigerated with Vinloq Preservation Gas
Day 24
👃Totally beautiful and boldly wafts from the glass
👅 Honeyed tropical fruits like lychee, plus lemon. But there is that ACID 👍. The finish is dry, smoked rocks. So fruity and so dry! Unchanged from Day 1. And I still LOVE it!💕 — 4 years ago
One of the best Pinots I have ever had. Very good! — 6 years ago
Whoa. Beautiful expression of Nero d' Avola and Frappato. Tense at first but so alive once it opens up. Couldn't get enough of the herbal notes of eucalyptus and thyme from the Nero. — 9 years ago

My first impressions of the 2020 Pégau “Cuvée Reservée”. I brought this bottle to Tasting Group and presented it double-blind to the crew, for science! The wine pours a deep ruby with a translucent core. Moderate staining of the tears; high viscosity. On the nose: the wine is moderate intensity; developing. Ripe cherry and bramble fruits with some strawberry, anise, exotic spices, garrigue, and lavender. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium+ tannin and medium+ acid and medium+ alcohol. The tannins are super grippy. The finish is long, herby and there is a streak of black pepper. Whoa…this is a gorgeously expressive wine! Some felt it was 1er cru Burg. Other thought something form Italy: Brunello or CCR. Only one, the only Advanced Somm in the group, called CdP, but he called 2016. Having had many 2016’s recently, I can see where he was coming from. But make no mistake, this will age well despite it’s current approachability. Drink now to enjoy its youth before it potentially (likely) shuts down. Otherwise, this will drink well for 10-15+ years. — 3 years ago
Whoa! A killer wine for a school night...Michel Rolland has another winner here. Definitely needs a little time to open up - a little spicy, super nice ripe fruit, licorice... almost surprising that it’s a merlot. Enjoyed in June 2020. Actually worked well with chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and gravy. — 6 years ago
Worthy of every 100 point. Whoa. @Benoit Touquette — 8 years ago

Whew! Big forward blast of richness, exotic fruits, flowers both in the nose and on the palate with the first few sips, and then enough acidity to pull together a pretty, citrusy, finish. At first like "Whoa" then like "Ahhh." Really interesting. Perfectly unbalanced if that makes any sense. — 10 years ago
Whoa value. — 10 years ago

Presented to me, double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine pours, a slightly hazy garnet color with a near opaque core and significant rim variation; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of mostly dried and desiccated fruit: dried brambles, dried cherry fruit leather, coffee, dried flowers, licorice, and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Initial conclusions: this could be a GSM blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon based blend or is Zinfandel from France or the United States. For me, there aren’t any signs of pyrazines so I like this as a GSM blend with a good amount of Syrah. Due to the color, rim, variation, and sediment I believe this has 25 to 30 years of age. Final conclusion, this is Chateauneuf-du-Pape from 2001. Whoa! I haven’t had one of these in a long, long time. OG Kalimna Bin 28! This was showing really well. Drink now but still has life left. — 17 days ago
