@Ryan Colthorp fun fact, this is Lars favorite Bordeaux. He wanted to write a song about it but couldn’t fit in enough SF references.

Domaine Guion

Deux Monts Bourgueil Cabernet Franc 2014

About that cab franc binge... the bang for buck on Guion’s Bourgueils are crazy. — 5 years ago

Farnese

Fantini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017

Cranberry, raspberry, oak, and spice with grippy tannins in the finish. Nothing complex or nuanced, but tremendous bang for the buck. — 6 years ago

Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay 2020

Used this to make sea scallop risotto. Bang on chard without too much butter or too much mineral. — 2 years ago

Bodegas Muga

Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2015

Powerful but balanced; fruit, minerals, and oak. Decanted, waiting to see how it evolves but definitely a bang for your buck — 5 years ago

Muga has been so up and down for us through the years. Amazing in some, disappointing in others.

815 California Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Great bang for the buck! Whiffs of Great Grandma's sofa and a smooth plumby finish. Very easy to drink without being too light. Just might become part of the weekly rotation! — 4 years ago

Clos Mogador

Priorat Red Blend 2013

The 2001 Clos Mogador was stunning aged drank in 2017 but this 2013 @ £65, now £80-£100 as a 98 Parker pointer, has massive potential 😁 Beautiful now but give this 10+yrs & you have a fab priced 98+ point wine in the making 😍 28k bottles so buy if you can 👍

📍 Clos Mogador 2013

🏵 97 points w/ 99+ potential I’d say

🍇 49% Grenache, 25% Carignan, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon & 16% Syrah 😍

🍷 Opaque deep ruby w/ purple hue

👃 Rich mocha infused spiced dark cherry/berry bang w/ minerals, pencil lead, herbs, soggy earth, raspberry coulis, hint of prune, soft smoked oak & crushed violets

👄 Med+ to Full bodied ripe creamy smooth dark berry/cherry oozy chocy mocha infused silky boom choc raspberry gateaux fest w/ a rock mineral stoney backbone

🎯 Long deep dark fruits & cocoa linger w/ a raspberry slap & mineral kiss - choc cherry gateaux in a glass 💥 😍
