Aroma of flinty strawberries. Tart strawberries berries upfront. Watermelon comes into play in the middle. Then a quick bone dry finish. — 3 years ago
Deep dark plum in the glass. Basically impenetrable. A touch of bricking on the thin edges. On the nose, the fruit is barely clinging on but still present. Plums and blueberries are the dominant notes here. A heavy dose of toasted cedar and green bell peppers. There’s faint floral aromas of violets along with a shock of burnt tobacco.
This is about as Napa as Napa gets. I was quite worried about how this Cab would present but it’s still alive and kicking. The end may be nigh but not quite nigh enough. Pleasant acid and well integrated tannins. Big and rich as you would expect an Oakville Cab to be but still smooth after hours of decanting. Plenty of chocolate with a dash of vanilla. The fruit on the tongue is diminished and subtle but still showing pretty well. Cherry pie and blueberry cobbler. The finish is medium length with just a touch of soft spice. This was so much fun and a great experience. Definitely mature and knocking on the door of almost gone but still good, nonetheless. — 4 years ago
$233.33 from the vineyard, maybe dove in a bit too soon. Also, had a total shit day that could be clouding my judgement. — 7 years ago
Pleasant, dry and gentle Rasberries. — 2 months ago
This wine is a very pretty, light salmon color in the glass. Aromas of cherries, strawberries and Meyer lemon leap up on the sniff. It is a fruity nose, and there is a mineral aspect with some salinity, too. On the palate the Grenache shines, ripe as hell. Some raspberry notes come through along with the aforementioned bright red fruit. Acidity is crisp and fresh and the finish lingers quite a while. It's a pretty good wine, especially considering the critter label. — 3 years ago

Won this wine in a wine pull! Went really went with Greek marinated grilled chicken, grilled lemons, wild rice and cucumber salad. Balanced, lemony, lemon grass, not fizzy, touch of pepper and herbs- foods with lemon or herbs and this is a good choice!! — 5 years ago

Dark cherry tobacco
This wine is like chomping on a pencil, smoking a pipe full of peace, and eating dark ripened tree fruit. Lingering, secret whispering tannins keep back and forth across my tongue, with a weight to carry it all, which I will voluntarily do.

Spicy mulberry aromas and flavors in this lovely aged Shiraz from the Whispering Hill vineyard in the Mt. Barker area of the Great Southern region, the winery is about 1 hour north of the Margaret River area, on the way south from Perth, still quite dark color, starting to show its age, but still a very fine Shiraz!! — 6 months ago

Proper French rose with the strawberry notes to go along with it. Reminds me of a budget version of whispering Angel. — 6 years ago

@Shay Aldriedge My 1st Aonair Grenache that i was lucky enough to enjoy thanks to my bud Shay! My 1st bottle was corked and he was kind enough to send me a 2nd!! You are insane my friend! This one was firing on all cylinders and definitely game to drag race Grenache! I agree spot on with Shay’s previous post., definitely a Syrah nose and Grenache on the palate. Smoked bacon., cedar, a touch of spice and dark fruit. I dig it! I decanted for approximately 2 1/2 minutes prior to enjoying the 1st sip! I could smell the nose from arms length and could not resist. I’m guessing this will develop well over the next 1 hour. I love seeing the progression which is why I dove right into it. Thanks bud!! 👏👏👏👏👍👍👏👏👏. I have a few beauties heading your way tomorrow. — 9 years ago
