Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg

Les Chaignots Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Lights out bottle from MG, one of my top 3 favorite producers. To no surprise 2002 is so open and giving and its aromatics could seduce you across the room. It’s very Vosne Romanée like as it shows a beautiful spice character and superior combination of power and elegance. There’s red currants, roasted herbs, sous bois and lovely integrated toasty oak. Finishes with fantastic length, depth and soft tannins. A stunner, and Chef Thomas Keller approved 😇 — 4 days ago

Is that the Kabinett? Enough acid for Lebanese?

Actually not as much acid as I would have preferred, but not too picky with pairings to be honest. Twas great with the chicken kebabs and kanafeh in a most of rose syrup. Down to flex the taste buds a bit!

Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay 2017

Definitely somewhere on the butterscotch spectrum which is usually a big turnoff for me, but here it’s part of a sweet creamy lemon / just-ripe pineapple meringue with acid lift and a crazy long finish for something that costs 30$. — a month ago

Domaine Thomas Morey

Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2014

Pretty darn good. Excellent QPR. Tasty. Needed air and to warm up a bit. As it did the hint of oak char integrated. — a month ago
