Quilceda Creek

CVR Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

9.2

Solid as always. Higher alcohol and wood than other bottles. Might need a decant as I PnP’d. Started off great with dark cherries and depth, but became astringent over time. — 8 days ago

Quilceda Creek

Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

2021 opened April 2025. This is a luscious wine, but I can’t help but nitpick. All the individual components are very one-dimensional. That’s not to say they all don’t work together well to make a great wine – but there’s nothing challenging on the palate about this vintage. If you like the monolithic cabs produced by Opus 1, then this wine is for you. However, I’d prefer a little more quirky individualism in my tipples.

The nose is overwhelmingly tobacco. The front is heavy with red fruit. The tannic structure is heavy, smooth, and silky. It has a medium long finish with hints of volcanic minerals. This wine is so perfect that it’s boring. If you like perfect perfection then up my score to 100 points, but I like the little challenges that quirky vintages give me.

DeLille Cellars

Four Flags Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

100% Cabernet, aged French oak (78% new), deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits, herbs and sweet floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with floral herbs, earthy oak and black pepper. Fine dusty tannins, long. finish ending with fruit, toasty oak and herb pepper spice. Will age well! — 24 days ago

Betz Family Winery

Clos de Betz Columbia Valley Red Blend 2018

55% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot red blend wine from Betz. Loads of red cherry, plum and black raspberry. Almost musty to taste with some floral notes on the nose. I'd lean full-bodied. — 3 days ago
