Vin Santo

Castello di Neive

Santo Stefano Albesani Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2011

A medium garnet color with a wide rim. Classic Barbaresco nose of dried roses, cherries, and dark chocolate. Absolutely gorgeous on the nose. This is one of those producers where you just know that it’s going to be good. A fuller bodied Nebbiolo that’s dancing gracefully at the moment. Ripe tannins that do need a bit of air before the fruit can be fully uncovered. Silky smooth on the tongue and just plain delectable. Touches of leather and dried herbs to go along with the oak, stewed plums, and more cherries on the palate. Chocolate mousse and tobacco follow on the long finish. This can definitely hold up a for several more years but I wouldn’t blame you for opening now. — 2 days ago

Very smooth and creamy. The best SB I think I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend this wine for ANY occasion. Great summer wine for sure. lllll — 16 days ago

Tenuta delle Terre Nere

Santo Spirito Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese 2014

My first impression was “Dujac of Etna”. Dark fruits, spice (stems?), pure. — a day ago

9.1

Enjoyed this mezcal the most of the three in a tasting. Embarrassed to say that perhaps it’s because the other two were too complex 😬 — 9 days ago

Clos du Tue-Boeuf

Vin Rouge Gamay 2018

A weighty Gamay of perfumed green stems, bright red fruit and hot tamale spice. It has a back door of green bell pepper and on day three, I was happy to welcome a little bit of soft caged mouse. — 16 hours ago

Castello di Neive

Santo Stefano Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2006

After the Fontalloro
I would say better, more elegant
Still young, cherry, rose, camphor, a bit of talc powder.
Very long and I reckon not at peak yet

Domaine Inebriati

Nerei Un Vin Blanc 2017

SB & UB. Nose is super funky, tending toward astringent. Palate is more balanced, weighty, tart and dry. Truly interesting bottling here! — 5 days ago
