Really tasty. Full bodied with medium acidity and medium/high tannins. Plums with hints of blueberry are joined by interesting herbal notes of thyme and sage. Also has a nice earthiness that veers into a touch of just-ground coffee beans accompanying the fruit and herbal flavors on the finish. Really good, and went well with meatball, ricotta, and mushroom pizza. — 20 days ago
2021 vintage. Medium body. Mostly fruit, fewer herbs in the nose. Total green light now. Some structure but not excessively so. Dunno how long the show will go but fabulous now and without any significant speed bumps/humps. This is an excellent Brunello to showcase the allure for those that have never had the pleasure or "gotten it" with the area. 4.15.26. — 15 days ago

Shoe leather on the nose. Red fruit on the front. Light tannic structure. Not much body. What body there is fades on the end. Short finish. Except for the slight scent of mouldy shoe leather on the nose, there’s nothing objectionable about this wine, but it’s weak and watery and without much character. Meh. But wait!…
I left the remainder in the bottle, and 24 hours later it had developed quite nicely. The nose had developed into unripe cherries—losing the moldy leather smell. Red fruit developed on the front, and the tannic structure improved. And it developed a longer finish. I upped my rating from an 8.6 to 9.0.

2021 vintage. Last tasted 3.25.26 (9.0). Liked this time even less. Not feeling this vintage. 4.29.26. — a day ago
Opened about an hour prior to service; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 Cepparello pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe notes of Morello cherry, red flowers, black tea, a combination of cool and warm spices and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. A beautiful Cepparello and although it’s quite young, it’s showing well in its relative youth! Drink now with some patience through 2044. — a month ago

2023 vintage. $120+ a bottle resto cost. I mean it’s nice but for that pricing and what I’d hafta charge for it? Hard pass. The new Antinori stuff (don’t ask about the whites) not working for me. Praying that their purchased property-Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars-has current offerings showing better for the pricing. Not holding my breath tho. 4.29.26. — a day ago
