School House Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014

It’s been forever since I last posted but this is an appropriate wine to start posting again. First time having this well balanced, elegant pinot. — 5 days ago

I bought 7 bottles at a great price and now I wish I would’ve bought more. Delicious.

Spring Mountain District Chardonnay 2013

Tom Elliot
9.1

The butterscotch on the nose seemed to suggest this might be a sweeter, plump style of Chardonnay but on the palate it’s dry with a fine acid backbone and subtle minerality. A fine 7 year old and not oaky. — 18 days ago

Ribbon Ridge Chardonnay 2015

Potential fav domestic Chardonnay for the $. Lemon oil, pear, hit of lactic acid, creamy, leesy. Such Burgundy, wow. 🇺🇸 — 18 days ago

Acid on this was razor sharp at the tasting a few years ago but I remember saying goddamn this is gonna be excellent! Really settled into itself. They ball, big fan.

Kerloo Cellars

Stone Tree Vineyard Malbec 2017

120 cases produced. Inky, dense burgundy red, highly extracted pigment, Cherry, black pepper in nose initially with hints of leather and butter. Tight, black cherry pulp and seed flavors, coarse skin astringency on finish with length in the cherry flavor. A hint of something medicinal plus tobacco. After 90 minutes, cherry flavor deepens, vegetal-tobacco flavors recede, acid-bitterness persists. A serious Malbec, reductive, well made. Tannic style, worth aging or decanting. — 23 days ago

School House

Spring Mountain District Pinot Noir 2010

It’s been far too long since having a School House Pinot Noir in my glass. Classic Spring Mountain tannin and savory edge throughout, cooperage is well integrated, plenty of resolve in the dark black cherry and plum fruit here. Soulful and earthy without ever losing freshness. Leather, pine, sandalwood, wilted violets, moss and almost an amaro spice note. — a month ago

Two Vintners

Stone Tree Vineyard Zinfandel 2016

Tasting a more recent vintage, 460 cases produced, 16.7% alc/vol (seriously?!) So how does it compare with previous vintages? Purple red, highly extracted pigment. Wood in nose, wood, black cherry and black currant in mouth initially. Letting it breathe... Mint and blackberry flavors emerge after 30 minutes, and there’s got to be some RS in this. Well made, balanced, surprisingly not hot or alcoholic (which explains the sweet fruitiness), slightly syrupy in mouthfeel. A really nice wine. Reminds me why, growing up, Zin was always my favorite. Moderate chewy tannins emerge after 60 minutes, but acceptably so; they later dissipate. Fresh fig and tar emerge after that, greatness! Makes me wonder if, with global warming, the future of Zinfandel is here in the Pacific Northwest — a month ago

Reininger

Helix Stone Tree SoRho Red Rhone Blend 2016

A whiff of strawberry quik.

Light to medium, strawberry theme continues with some strawberry taffy, menthol, a bit of heat on the back end, with low tannins and low acidity.
Great wine company, great wines.

Outstanding. Enjoyed staying at the Wild Coyote Vineyard a few years back- wonderful hosts. Fine wine and delicious home cooked breakfast out on the veranda - never saw so many hummingbirds at one time. Special wine for us. — 9 days ago

The Dreaming Tree

California Pinot Noir 2017

Nice wine which we've had elsewhere. Earthy notes, hints of mushroom, and slight acidity in the finish. Really want to pair it with chicken and pork. — 4 days ago
