As if it wasn’t enough to experience three separate vintages of Noël Verset; I now get to follow it up with Thiérry Allemand’s Sans Soufre! Opened prior to dinner and enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2001 “Sans Soufre” pours a deep ruby/purple with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with wild notes of pure blue fruits, blueberries and figs, mixed brambles, Fun Dip stick, purple flowers, spiced meat, chanterelle mushroom, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long. The structure remains monumental giving me the impression that this could easily see its 50th birthday. Drink now with some patience through 2051. — 3 months ago
Nice viscosity, caramel, honey, sea fossils, green apple, white citrus blend, fruit blossoms, well balanced with finish for days. — 4 months ago

Generally not a big fan of cabernet franc, but this was recommended to me as an especially good example. Glad I tried it. Not heavy, but distinct notes of fruit and earth/leather. Really good abd sophisticated, especially at this price ($28 I think). Recommended by Lower Falls Wine Shop in Wellesley, MA. — a month ago
Another solid vintage. Beautiful golden color. Aromas of stone fruit, honey and white flowers. Fruit salad flavors of peach, pear, apricot, nectarine and a bit of tropical fruit. A rich honey/beeswax note on the long finish. Silky/oily texture with low acidity. (Wine is still nicely balanced.) Quite vibrant and succulent with a lovely creamy structure. Solid value for Condrieu. Aged quite well. — 4 months ago
This is bonkers good. So fresh. Berries, currant, sage, some flowers, cherries, some pepper and herbs, good acidity, long tart lovely finish. Killer cab franc. — 6 months ago
Decent blend, somewhat dry — 7 months ago
A red Meursault! Excellent, intriguing red fruited earthy notes with balanced if not lean palate and a nice tingling finish. Actually great with Evan’s sushi bake off salmon and crab. — 8 months ago
Dark fruits with notes of meat, graphite, spice, licorice, mineral & violets — 2 months ago
Medium gold color. Honeysuckle and lemon zest on the nose. Same on the palate with decent acidity and metallic elements. Got better with air. — 4 months ago
Opened just prior to dinner and decanted. The 2010 “Reflet” pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with heady notes of dark brambles, spiced cured meat, purple flowers, black pepper, Kalamata olive, dried green herbs, granitic earth, and a kiss of warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is squarely in the zone and fantastic stuff. Drink now through 2035+. — 6 months ago
