Incredibly rich but still a delicious Pinot. Herbal aromas of tarragon and spice surround the core of stewed strawberries and black cherry. Palate is dense with creamy tannins and quite a bit of new oak is present. Vanilla, Cherry, and cola on the 30+ second finish. I’ll wait another couple years to open the next one. — a year ago

Santa Lucia Highands Chardonnay 2012

These guys do a fantastic job at a reasonable price (at least when I bought it, no idea now). The nose fades quick which is a bummer but it’s great on the finish - long and delightful. — 25 days ago

Estate Cuvée Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.3

Fresh and buoyant, the 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Cuvée shoots a vibrant array of sweet cherry, black raspberry and clove from the glass. Neatly structured yet enthusiastic, the stem inclusion adds lift and spiciness but doesn’t distract. The 2022 finishes with a linear drive. I admire the concentration of fruit here. Vineyard sites are Pisoni, Garys’ and Soberanes—a blend that really works. (Billy Norris, Vinous, August 2024)

Pisoni Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

Oh boy, how do I handle this wine. Having it young was too intense to drink, having at some point later seemed to be over the hill but now thinking that was a flawed bottle. This one was excellent with a ton of dark fruits mainly blackberries, plumbs and others. Also, had some cola and wood notes. Excellent from start to the long finish. Think it could go for some more years but why bother when drinking so great now. This is my last bottle and that’s fine since I’m an old guy and can’t be buying expensive wines that you need to hold for 10 plus years — 8 months ago
