Intense and pure. Beautiful balance. Focused and saline with great minerality. Young and tight but so much in the future — 11 days ago

Cuvée de Réserve Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay

Crisp, citrusy and with great acidity and freshness. This is one of the best and finest blanc de blancs from an independent grower we know: Rodolphe Peters does truly great champagne. — 2 months ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 2015

Very light pale yellow robe, nose of orchards, limestone and a hint of honeysuckle. Very fresh and rich in the mouth, with lemon zests and mineral notes. Very long. A pleasure now, but hold your breath. A great Dom. Impressive how each year they get it right ! — 13 days ago

Bedrock Wine Co.

Old Vine Zinfandel 2020

I’ve waxed (eloquent? Well, at least waxed!! 🤔) about the virtues and quality of this excellent 2020 Zinfandel multiple times, but this wine is still punching well above its weight (the so-called “leftovers” that didn’t make the single vineyard cut), long finish, lovely!! Going to the Bedrock pickup party in Sonoma tomorrow to get some of the 2024s I’ve already purchased, so this is a great warmup!! — a month ago

Posed and delicious. A hint of honey, some rock pool, pear and ripe apple. Stone and great texture. Long but a little less lucid than the mag of Monte alongside. Excellent — a month ago

Clos du Val Wine Co.

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

If someone had never tasted a Napa Valley Cab, I would happily pour this for reference. It's bold and great. I'm enjoying the balance of ripe, dark fruit with tasteful oak additions. There's a hint of eucalyptus, and pleasant leathery tannins. I personally would take this over Silver Oak or Heitz with my ribeye, and that's not just my wallet talking. $50 well spent.
Listening to Arctic Monkeys, again.
