Library white still holding up; a testament to the winemaking of the late, great Jim Clendenen. Roses, peaches, acid core; not unctuous or too sweet. Paired nicely with pierogi, sausages and sauerkraut and plum/fig tart. — 5 years ago
Black cherry/kirsch aromas w hint of earthiness and sage. Excellent balance w long finish. Delightful. A testament to how well the right napa cabs can age — 6 years ago
Slightly musty nose of dried rose, plum, sour cherry. Lovely depth on the palate with dark fruit, some soured notes a touch of Madeira and a slightly drying finish. This has been open for over a week, so it’s holding up remarkably well for a wine of this age. Lovely stuff- a testament to the ageability of rioja. — 8 years ago
Terrific chardonnay from Pisoni. Interesting comparison with their Lucia line: this one, from their flagship label, exhibits far more depth than the (very good) Lucia chard. Honeysuckle, lemon peel, white flowers, and a hint of vanilla on the nose, the palate has impressive depth. The wine needs to be cooled down a few degrees in order to bring it into focus in terms of acidity, but once it’s there the wine is nicely balanced. Impressed with the amount of fruit that still presents given the wine’s age, a testament to the fact that Jeff Pisoni definitely knows what he’s doing with chardonnay. Probably has several more years of evolution ahead of it, but drinking beautifully right now. — 8 years ago

Oaky, dark fruit, coffee, smoky, eucalyptus, underbrush with a smooth mineral salty long finish. Tannins and acidity on the high side but overall it is well balanced wine... Decanting is a MUST!! Nice honest, unpretentious and bold wine that could compliment ANY plate. Guarantee of enjoyment and mood improvement! Testament to things well done ... — 5 years ago
Remarkable how well this held up for nine years… 50% cab sauv, 36% PV, 14% merlot....Smart blending considering the wet end to the vintage – as much acid as possible (this was the second label wine from old vines… Before T.Ruth was born the next year). Classic Glen Manor concentration of flavor, just in a lighter weight package. This was my last bottle and I knew it was on the downward slope. Glad we enjoyed it when we did Dash it was a testament to Jeff white quality in the vineyard and deft touch in the cellar :) — 6 years ago
Indeed Nancy, this is really good! — 8 years ago
This tasted woefully young to me, which at 20 years is crazy, but a testament to the life of these wines. Great nose, palate lean and somewhat austere, muted fruit, dry finish. — 8 years ago
Better on Day 2. Abundant red fruit, some smoked meat, bacon, garrigue...tremendous value for $25 and better than previous three vintages IMO. This is a testament to the strength of the 2015 vintage. — 9 years ago
This wine is a testament to the “buy the vintage” concept. Back when I couldn’t really afford cellear-able wines, I heard that 2010 was a great vintage for a Bordeaux and bought this at Trader Joe’s. I kept it cellared until now. The wind poured a deep, reddish purple in the glass. I aerated it and let it sit for nearly an hour after that. Although its nose was moderate, the flavors were fantastic. Strawberry, cranberry, other dried fruit. The tannins were intense. With a fairly decent finish. This is all I could hope for from a bottle of Bordeaux. I will probably be revisiting this winery, since it’s so easy through Trader Joe’s. The wine was a perfect accompaniment to the grass fed ribeye steaks we paired it with. Talk about a great deal for just probably $12-$13 at Trader Joe’s. #bordeauxrouge #saintemilion #redwine #traderjoes #rightbank #rightbankbordeaux — 3 years ago
Tobacco, cran, some plum. Big fruit. Solid
With John & Sue, who just got to town…
Update… just noticed I had trouble rating this wine in Italy… as I thought, a testament to the quality of the wine I was drinking there, that against others I had this a couple notches lower. — 5 years ago
Really extraordinary Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay, drinking at its peak. Has started to take on wonderful secondary character, with lots of honeycomb, hazelnut, and toasty brioche showing on the nose and palate. That makes the wine sound a lot more decadent than it is, though. At its heart, like all of the Tyler Chardonnays, this wine is first and foremost a masterclass in focus and precision. Even at the ripe old age of 6, with its contours slightly softened and its flinty reduction tempered, this wine is still wonderfully, vividly alive, with copious lemony acidity and fruit that still leans more towards tangerine oil and grapefruit. That this is still so piquant and salty and mouthwatering and more-ish after 6 years in the bottle is a real testament to the quality and the substance of these wines. — 7 years ago
Based on Palo Cortado with PX added in, Apostoles is a testament to what the Medium Sherry category can be. You get the figgy, Christmas spicy breadth of the PX on the entry, but the finish is pillared, lingering with warming oxidative flavors of roasted chestnuts and bread. Can I please drink Sherry every day? — 8 years ago

I’d forgotten about this which I bought many moons ago as part of a vertical of Albert’s.
The 2005 was one of their earliest vintages and having “found” it thought it was probably outside its drinking window. Lots of sediment and crust had lined inside bottle much like a Henschke Mount Edelstone, decanted and it opened up after a couple of hours and it was beautifully smooth and integrated package of flavours.
I have a 2005 Edelstone which I’ll open soon but the Albert evolved over the evening and is an excellent testament to Kym Teusner’s work. — a year ago
