Aubert

Eastside Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2016

I like these a lot but no more holding. Lacking a bit of punch. I’m late on these. — 17 days ago

Yep, that’s my observation, Aubert and in general Napa chards beyond 7-8 years of age are flakey.

Sonoma-Cutrer

Russian River Ranches Chardonnay 2023

This wine is straw yellow in color. Its nose gives aromas of pear and apple, with lemon coming in behind. There is a hint of oak in the bouquet. The palate brings the citrus minerality to the forefront to play with the fruit flavors. Acidity is bright, but not overpowering. The wine finishes a bit oakier than the nose would have suggested, but it is a pleasurable hit of oak spice. I paired mine with buttery potato pierogies and a carrot risotto dish, and was quite pleased. — a month ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

[Top neck fill level] This shows lovely red fruits, still pretty structured, fresh, very nice acidity, should continue to improve, long, lingering finish, really a super 1986 Bordeaux!! — 11 days ago

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

Really excellent. From half bottle and was worried this would be too far gone. Certainly doesn’t need more time - but still quite together. Pretty minerally (in a nice St Julien way). Lighter bodied at this point but still with a nice lifting acid at the finish. Excellent pairing with a simple roast chicken with lemon. — 4 days ago
