Feeling fortunate and grateful. A friend brought this back from her trip to Paris as a gift. She was nervous and skeptical as it had sat around an 85°F apartment for a week.
Thrilling, really. From bouquet to finish. Scents of cranberry, blood orange, and spice waft from the glass. The palate gains muscle with air showing cherry, red currant, chalk, and clove with insane length and disciplined concentration. My only knock would be the wood tannin being slightly overpowering on the mid palate, but the finish dazzles with an endless echo of mushroom and earth.
Seemingly just hitting its peak, though it’s bound to stay here or improve for a decade or more. Great stuff. — 9 months ago
A nice surprise and was served blind after a Gevrey first growth, someone called Barolo even, which made sense except for the length that was less than average. Aromas of tobacco leaf, spices, grippy tannins and a nice acidity, pretty good balance overall although I found it to have notes of early evolution.
— 3 years ago
Pretty purple dress. First superb nose both fresh and peppery on small black blueberry, blackcurrant, violet flower; then more surprising notes on mountain climates and stink in Switzerland for me. It evokes more southern notes of syrah, such as Cornas, St-Joseph, bacon and smoke without the graphite charcoal side. Really a beautiful cuvée that connects two types of syrah usually tasted. The mouth is fluid. Cuvée full of charm with certainly cold extraction to infuse the fruit to the maximum without excess alcohol. Congratulations Switzerland once again! 🙏🇨🇭
Jolie robe pourpre. 🙏🇨🇭 — 2 years ago
