Dark, fairly rustic and brooding. Better on the second night. It’s similarly unflattering as the Burlotto enjoyed recently. I’m thinking of Friesa as the Nuit St George off Piedmont. Next to the 2017 Rinaldi Dolcetto open at same time it’s more savoury and has more depth on the palate but is less bright on acidity. — 5 years ago
Yep that’s definitely nuit st. Georges. Clive Coates acclaimed 2 star producer deserves it. No manipulation here. Terroir shining. Taste that chalk. Love it. Rating corresponds to value. — 6 years ago
The 2017 Nuit-Saint-George village offering is sumptuous and rich, with strawberry liqueur, red and black cherry, balanced by white mushrooms, cola nut, and delicate acidity. Not at all dusty as with Tanzer’s 2016 tasting. This one might not need much time in bottle. Another lovely Meo. — 7 years ago
Built up a bit of excitement in selecting this Nuit-Saint George, then opened it up and neaaahhh!
All a bit flat. Nothing terribly wrong and it wasn’t corked, just no major aromas or flavors. Guess you can’t win em all. Or, we’ve just been spoiled with amazing wine and every now and then you pick an average one.
Still a great meal 😊 — 4 months ago

The 2015 is drinking better after some additional time in bottle. Since I recently opened some Meo-Camuzet Burgundies, I wanted to compare while they were fresh in my mind. This wine reminds me of a New World version of Meo’s village Nuit-St-George. It’s slightly riper in some ways, simpler in structure, and doesn’t have much of that Old World tangy/sour/mineral finish. Cost is sorta close (Meo a little more in most markets), so for me the Meo wins by a SLIGHT margin, but this is oh-so-close. The N-J will likely be preferred by most American palettes. — 7 years ago

— 6 years ago
Picked this baby up Nuit-Saint-George while touring France with the in-laws. Father-in-law currently in the cath lab for an inferior STEMI, so decided to break this one out of the archives. Best of luck, Ralph! — 7 years ago
Carafé 3 heures , le vin est superbe pour un village , la matière est élégante et on retrouve le côté profond et un peu austère de nuit , génial j en veux d autres ! — 8 years ago

Anniversary wine! Classic Nuit! Secondary characteristics starting to develop but still very fresh. Forest floor, dark fruits, a bit vegetal. Very layered. — a month ago
