Lazer-like acidity and just wonderful with food. Basil, lemon and flowers!. — 2 years ago
With air, the uni dimensions of currants & a fussier, tighter palate really blossoms into a more rounded, red cherry affair. Not the last word on complexity given this is entry level, but for 16/17$ it’s a nice deal. Terry thiesse & Skurnik, importer — 4 years ago
Strawberry and raspberry taffy nose
Deliciously well put together layers of berry - all wild and ripe - some slight Slate, white pepper, and sweetened dried cherry.
a rare find outside of the country, and a great wine indeed!

Tight.
N:Reticent, herbaceous, black plums, cocoa. Plush red/brown velvet nose.
P: Way too young… patience my man,
But nice plums, tilled earth, dense, herbs, lots of acid,
This ain’t no Cali/Ore Pinot.
I say come back in five? yrs.
After 1 hr + in a decanter, Wow! Dirty leather,
Big.
Thank @ Fass Selections
From Skurnik:
The pick of the sites on the big hill, this is limestone again, and the wine is fascinating, bloody yet almost mineral; a truly complex mid-palate, animated and squirming; dark fruit and warm crust and a lingering multi-faceted finish. — 2 years ago
The bottle gets a 9.0, but I want to give it a 10.0 because the Skurnik portfolio, to an extent, has hit Mississippi! A big moment for the troubled relationship my state seems to have with good European wine. Nice more robust style Gamay. Not particularly my cup of tea, but it tastes damn good tonight. Now it is time to see more than bottom of the bin burgundies around! — 3 years ago
