Incredible bang for buck. Loved it with dark chocolate silk pie. Drank like a 70 bean bottle. — 4 years ago
Dense purple color with a raspberry colored rim Aromas of maraschino, cherry, blueberry pie, violets. On the palate, wow. So different from the rich juicy Zinfandels I’ve had in the past. This is light and tart. Great acid, no tannins, so drinkable and it gets better and better as you drink and inhale the aromas — 4 months ago
McKahn Family Cellars - 2019 Grenache - WOW! I love Grenache and this is definitely my new favorite!!! this is just about the perfect wine. The nose is blueberry pie fresh out of the oven. The initial palate is loaded with big ripe black and purple fruit and berries. This is so good and complex. Blackberry, boysenberry, plumb, ripe sweet juicy grapes fresh off the vine, and a hint of raspberry. Then comes the earthy tones of graphite and oak. There is a hint of chocolate and spice in the background. The finish is dry and absolutely no sourness anywhere. This is a true gem!!!!!
Fantastic job McKahn family! — 2 years ago
Jammy Spicy Smooth. Very nice with Chef John’s Pumpkin Pie on this, the day we received our first dose of Moderna vaccine for Covid-19. — 4 years ago

This is a very tasty Mourvedre from california. Spicy and entertaining. Feels like an elegant California Zinfandel. Interesting stuff.

Rich, dark purple in the glass. Shy, reticent nose of dark pie cherry, and tobacco. Smooth, (perhaps too smooth) and ripe (perhaps too ripe)… definitely “New world” in style. I think perhaps Barbera needs a bit of roughness, wildness, primitiveness to balance the fruit. Still a nice accompaniment to hot Hawaiian pizza and late-summer heirloom salad. — 3 years ago
Medium ruby with so much strawberry on the nose. There’s some faint vanilla and funk to go along with the fruit, but the strawberry is very dominant initially. Very light bodied, dry, and some of the brightest acidity this side of France. Far more Old World than New, this is so much fun to drink and refreshing, as well. One bottle really doesn’t last very long. Red fruit still lively on the palate with some blueberry pie and fresh herbs playing backup. I loved everything about this wine. Maybe the best Gamay Noir outside of France, I don’t know. I just know it’s terrific. — 5 years ago
