So much going on here

Violets and sweet funk in that nostril,
A wild ride of herbs, flowers, fruits - saline and cedar.

Stinky but blows off, leaving only a bit of a rubbery aftertaste. Funky and herbal with real complexity, transparent and full of flavor. Just a little bitter on the finish.

Extraordinary fruitiness upfront, but the finish is like drinking battery acid. If you are looking for a super fruity wine, this is it, but the finish mars the wine. No elegance or subtlety here, but this wine would have been good if the acidity and high alcohol were reduced.

The village or introductory wine from Comando G. Overall, a good relative value. Copious notes below. Read those by @Andrew Schirmer and @Josh Morgenthau .

Kaa the snake, not Baloo the bear… bitter herbal garrigue, nice texture, funky brett that blew off after a few hours. Nice pairing with lamb sausage/lentil soup. A touch more heat than we’d prefer.

Comando G’s “village” wine - La Bruja de Roza, is the result of a collaboration between Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia. This wine is sourced from several vineyards in the vicinity of Las Rozas de Puerto Real (near Madrid). It is described as being “pure Garnacha from granitic sand, La Bruja is perfumed and lively with plenty of fruit with a backbone of acidity and fine tannin.”

If you have not tried any Comando G wines, you really need to seek and try. La Bruja de Rozas serves as a good intro to the Comando G wines. I would describe the 2020 as having notes of currants and red berries, as well as being a bit smokey/flinty. Not smokey in a bad way, but definitely prevalent on the nose. This wine is medium-ish body with 14.5% ABV.
