Fruit forward, low tannins, easy drinking. — a month ago
Privileged to sample the 2016 Monte Bello at the winery as part of their Library offerings. The bottle is $375 at the winery. Tight and tannic after 8 years (and half an hour of decanting) but promising much more. Josh at the winery concedes that it’s in a dumb phase but should reach its peak in 20-30 years. I could analyze and pick apart this one for hours. — 24 days ago
A fantastic bottling that is rich, bright and delicate at the same time. Fully integrated with lovely smoky and mineral notes. Long elegant finish.
The winery note states full development by 2022. Agreed but should have staying power for another 4-5 years. — 18 days ago

78% Cabernet Sauvignon; 21% Merlot; 1% Petit Verdot. 106 tons from 43.5 acres. Winemaker notes 4/20. “Most enjoyable over next 12 to 18 years.” 18 months in oak. — a month ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with floral and wood spice notes, aged for 11 months in oak. On the palate flavors of strawberry and cherry with tobacco, oak, tea, cola and herb floral notes. Well balanced, savory fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an oaky earthy character. Nice! — 8 days ago
