San Lorenzo

Castello di Ama

Gran Selezione San Lorenzo Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2016

Can’t get enough Chianti. Great nose of cherry and rose. Some chocolatey fruits, hint of wood. Tannins pick up with time. Opened to pair with Melissa Clark’s ‘pizza chicken’. — 17 days ago

Finca Las Moras

Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2017

Found at a local grocery store. More expensive than Costco. We thought it was on sale but it wasn’t. Older vintage than Costco. Not much difference between the 17 & 18. Will stock up on either one. — 9 days ago

Alesia San Mateo County Pinot Noir 2010

First pass at an aged Rhys. Fun. Some barnyard going on here. Not fruit forward. Not a Syrah disguised as a Pinot Noir. — 5 days ago

Ronco del Gnemiz

Bianco San Zuan Friulano 2019

🍇2019 Ronco del Gnemiz Friulano San Juan
Enchanting and thrilling with a lovely texture. Somehow it reminds me of a mix of a white Burgundy and high quality Sancerre. A wine that is right up my alley. Serve it at 12 degrees in a generous Burgundy glass. Serve it with something tasty.

Good concentration on the nose that opens up with some green apples, grape fruit and elder flower that is soon overtaken by richer characters of juicy peaches, orange and honey. Toasted nuts and a pronounced crushed fruit mineralogy brings further complexity.
Full bodied and a generous entry with a balancing fresh acidity. Pronounced fruit concentration and strong mid palate yet with a slime waste and lovely salty texture that brings nerve and tension through a very solid finish. Well Done!

San Antonio Valley Syrah 2017

Very smoky on the nose and palate but also smooth and fruity! I love it. From those of you from California: I seem to really enjoy wine from Paso, would this be considered the same region? — 6 days ago

Paired so nicely with a grilled pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, and salad. Everything came together so nicely for an early alfresco family dinner. — 8 days ago

Finca Las Moras

Jatkoon! 😋❤ — 8 days ago

Assiduous Wines

Kells Vineyard Merlot 2019

9.0-9.1
Raspeberry, Sequoia, Santa Cruz Mtn soil.

Carbonic maceration, destmmed after 10 days, fermented on-skins for some time more, pressed to mouthfeel, native ferment, unfined, unfiltered, 13% abv. Slightly cloudy without notable sediment.

I really appreciate this wine, while my friend is bonkers for this wine. Easily approachable, easy drinking & pair-able, does not seek to destroy (thank you!)

Very pleasant, fruity, great on its own or with food. Great without decant (notes potent for me though), I enjoyed more with 1 hour decant. Enjoy now.
