#AgedWineTuesday
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Full bodied with high acidity to balance the sugars.
Sweet on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked raisins, cedar, spices, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, light earth and herbs.
Long finish with cherries.
This is a gorgeous sweet wine from Portugal. Rich with great balance and a soft mouthfeel.
The 1994 vintage was an exceptional vintage, so I was very excited to try it when I saw it on the wine list.
Smells very young, although it smelled a little oxidized right out of the bottle, which went away after 20 minutes of airtime.
Drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a Fourme d'Ambert blue cheese. So nicely paired, tasty and decadent.
A great experience to try these kind of wines from special vintages.
20% alcohol by volume.

Pretty color of ruby with medium intensity and a light brick rim.
Pretty nose of red fruits with wild flowers and light forest floor notes.
Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with sweet cherries, cooked plums, light oak, mushrooms, spices, chocolates, earth and herbs.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Pinot Noir from Oregon. Elegant and nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.
Burgundy in style, and I really enjoyed smelling it for a long while.
This 19 year old Pinot Noir is still drinking beautifully. Drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
Wine Spectator 92 points. Wine Advocate 91 points. Wine Enthusiasts 90 points.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 20 minutes of airtime.
Balanced and easy drinking. Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.

Got at Jewel 12-23, very sweet, mellow and easy drinking! — 2 years ago
This is really good for a basic ruby port. Dried plum, richly fruited and hint of dried fruit as well. Nice intensity and length and balance. This is easily the best ruby I’ve had. My niece and her husband just brought this back from Portugal. — 7 months ago
medium ruby with quite wide terracotta rim . Quite light spice filled nose at first , allspice , clove , nutmeg with some liquorice and herbal , tobacco and red plum touches. On the palate a bit leaner than the 1993 , but light dried red fruits, sous bois , tobacco and herbal notes. Good length, really nice balance and intensity with fresh acidity and melted sweet tannins . This is still showing well and can last perhaps a further 5 years or so . Quite elegant and classic in style . — a year ago
