2022 vintage. The smallest estate in Saint-Julien ( 0,85 hectares),founded in 1961 by André Leclerc. André was also the winemaker at Léoville Barton, and he was allowed to make his wine there. Today, wine is made as a hobby by his family and their friends, many of them working for famous Saint-Julien Crus classés. The old vines are mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with 25% of Merlot. The 2022 is an impressive, classic Saint-Julien. Deep, dark red colour. Cassis, blackberries, and the most subtle touch of oak. Concentrated black fruits, embedded in a structure of ripe tannins, and good acidity. The winemaker of Beychevelle , Philippe Blanc helps out with the blending. A hidden gem ! — 3 months ago

Pop and pour. Well, wow, I should have bought more of this. On the nose: dense plum, strawberry, cinnamon, intense without being over the top. On the palate: tar, blackberry, charcoal, dense and dark fruited...so well-balanced, fantastic length and juiciness and the finely grained tannin sneaks up on the finish. — 5 years ago
second wine from the same winery in st chinian which is a part of Languedoc-Roussillon wine region.
the first one was newer (2016) and felt too oaky.
60% mourvedre
20% grenache
20% syrah
14% ABV
dense brownish red 👀
wet soil, leather, tobbaco, oak related spices and hinted blackberies. and some 🍄👃
medium plus body.
high acidity.
tart attack first.
then a chewy spicy candy with hints of fruit👄
long 🎯 with the dirt taste lingering and then switched by firm but light tannins drying things up in a pleasent way.
excelent vfm (75 nis but in france)
had it for three days.
first day it shined with heavily umamied vegan 'bolognese' and pasta (based on mushroom variety and black lentils).
second day it got fruitier with not 100% traditionly made arancini.
third day had it on it's own.
it stayed the same wine throughout those days.
was always better when poured with an aerator pourer.
I'm wondering if it was a better wine than the other newer wine, or if it is time that balanced it.
the conclusion is clear:
i need to visit my friend in 🇫🇷 and drink some more. — 7 years ago

Ovenbird w M and Ritchie. Mineral. Textured. Fresh. Paired well w ankimo.
The 2012 Condrieu Coteaux du Chery, which comes from one of the most heralded sites in the appellation, is also brilliant (as is his 2011!). The most rich and textured of the lineup, it offers thrilling notes of white peach, crushed rock, buttered grapefruit, flowers and tangerine to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered, yet brilliantly fresh and detailed texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. It too will drink nicely for 4-5 years.
I had a fabulous visit with proprietor Andre Perret at his cellar located just north of Chavanay. Soft spoken, charming and generous, he runs an immaculate cellar and releases up to three Condrieus in a vintage. In addition to his whites, he fashions elegant, almost Burgundian-styled reds from Saint Joseph that warrant more attention.

We finally managed to have a few bottles of Clos Saint Andre to taste. Very elegant and well done Merlot that shows great fruit and acidity, and has velvety and polished tannins. Decant 60 minutes before drinking or hold for 5 to 6 years. Really good wine, recommended. — 6 years ago
