Montagne-St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

I also have a weak spot for Pomerol’s and right banks from St. Emilion. This find delivers on that Merlot inspired approach. Subtle. Expressive.

Pop and pour. Well, wow, I should have bought more of this. On the nose: dense plum, strawberry, cinnamon, intense without being over the top. On the palate: tar, blackberry, charcoal, dense and dark fruited...so well-balanced, fantastic length and juiciness and the finely grained tannin sneaks up on the finish.

did a pop and pour and feeling like i should have let this open up for 4+ hours instead. very intensely plummy, waiting for more character to reveal itself. will try again on day 2.

not loving this one. has a cardboard thing going on and thinking it might be corked. it’s very tightly wound other than that, really very little expression.
